岩手県大槌町の避難所で、ブラジル人男性の留学生がボランティアで子供の遊び相手をしている。真剣を使った居合抜きを習い、日本の武術を愛する自称「ブラジル忍者」。子供を笑顔にさせる人気者だ。

「ヘンちゃん、遊ぼうよ」。避難所になっている安渡小学校の校庭。長髪のヘンドリッキ・リンデラウフさん（３０）の姿を見つけた男児が駆け寄ってきた。「よし、サッカーをしよう」。他の児童も一緒にボールを追い掛け始めた。

女川で被災したブラジルの方が帰国、サンパウロで新しい生活を。

A family of Japanese-Brazilians who had their homes wiped away by the massive March 11 tsunami are now trying to rebuild their lives in Brazil. Luckier than tens of thousands of other tsunami refugees who are still living in shelters, the family were bought back to their birth country by Brazil’s foreign ministry.
When Roseli Takashi and her sister-in-law, Mary Takashi, heard the tsunami alerts in the northeastern city of Onagawa on March 11, they raced out of their homes with their daughters in time to save themselves. But their homes were not spared.

チリで被災者のためのメモリアルが行われました。

An outdoor vigil was held in Chile for the Japan quake on Wednesday.
Japan’s ambassador to Chile, Wataru Hayashi, welcomed Chilean Foreign Minister Alfredo Moreno to the event.
Ambassador Hayashi says international support in crucial in helping Japan rebound from the disaster.
[Wataru Hayashi, Japanese Ambassador to Chile]:
“I was deeply touched by the words shared today and solidarity and encouragement from everyone in the past. Although our country has been facing a national crisis since March 11, we will make an effort to rebuild a new, safer and more livable country in the spirit of something good coming out of something bad. To do that, we need solidarity and support from our allies.”
Chile has made a remarkable recovery from an 8.8 quake in 2010 which hammered towns, roads and industries and killed more than 500 people.

「あったかいお豆腐は久しぶり」。４月中旬、宮城県気仙沼市や岩手県石釜市といった東日本大震災の被災地でふるまわれた湯豆腐。使われた豆腐は、南米パラグアイの日系人か­ら送られた大豆が原材料でした。
支援の中心は、岐阜県美濃加茂市の食糧輸入会社で、緊急時の食糧確保と南米の日本人移民農家支援を目的に約８年前からパラグアイの大豆を輸入している「ギアリングス」です­。

ジャマイカのミュージシャンと日本人ミュージシャンがコラボレーションアルバムを救済に。
‘Starting Over’ and ‘Matsushima’ are the latest efforts by Japanese natives living in Jamaica, Jun Tochino and Yumiko ‘Yumi’ Gabe, to aid in disaster relief funds for victims of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.
The two who are well-known in the Jamaican music industry approached several artistes with the idea to do a song of which the proceeds will go to the relief fund and they said many of reggae’s great legends stepped up right away to lend their talent and names to the worthy cause.
“Me and Jun, we were thinking what we can do because we are so far from Japan. We are involved in reggae music a lot here, so we a use music to help,” Yumi told the STAR.

平成２３年４月１５日から２０日まで、パナマシティ（パナマ）で開催された第１２４回 ＩＰＵ（列国議会同盟）会議において、２０日（水）、今次ＩＰＵ会議議長を努めたホセ・ムーニョス・モリーナ・パナマ議会議長の「東日本大震災に関する声明」が採択されました。同声明は、地震及び津波の被害を受けた日本に対する哀悼の意を示すとともに、加盟国議会に対し、日本への支援の必要性に留意するよう求めるものです。声明採択後、我が国議員団は全員が登壇し、森本哲生衆議院議員が議員団を代表して謝辞を述べました。
