Panama will donate $1 million worth of beef to Japan in the wake of last week’s devastating earthquake and tsunami.

The proposal was presented by President Ricardo Martinelli on Tuesday during a cabinet meeting and unanimously approved, according to a state press release.

Tokyo (CNN) — Japan’s beloved emperor dramatically took to the national TV airwaves Wednesday and buoyed the spirits of his disaster-stricken citizens, an extraordinary address before a nation grappling with the aftermath of an epic earthquake and a devastating tsunami and growing fears of a nuclear catastrophe.
“I truly hope the victims of the disaster never give up hope, take care of themselves, and live strong for tomorrow,” said the dignified and understated Emperor Akihito, a calm and poignant oration delivered from the Imperial Palace.
“Also, I want all citizens of Japan to remember everyone who has been affected by the devastation, not only today but for a long time afterwards — and help with the recovery.”

Luanda – Angolan President, José Eduardo dos Santos, expressed deep shock over the tragic situation Japan is experiencing following the tragic natural occurrences, hitting the Asian country.

The Angolan head of State expressed the shock in a message addressed Wednesday to the Japanese premier, Naoto Kau.

キューバは日本に救援隊を派遣する用意が。

Cuban authorities said they were ready to send a team of doctors and rescuers to assist in rescue efforts in earthquake-stricken Japan, Cuba’s AIN news agency reported on Tuesday.

Cuban Ambassador to Japan Jose Fernandez de Cossio also said all Cubans currently in Japan were ready to render any necessary aid.

Many Reggae/dancehall artistes that frequent the country are more concerned about the loss of lives rather than the effect it will have on the music Industry. Some reggae artistes describe Japan as the best place that they have ever performed. These interactions between the two countries have formed lifetime friendships.

Brazil’s vast Japanese community began to step up efforts to raise funds for the country’s quake and tsunami victims on Monday (March 14) as many still struggled to receive news from their loved ones. Since the powerful quake hit the island-country on Thursday, many immigrants living in Sao Paulo’s downtown district of Liberdade have changed their routine.
The neighborhood, which is like a slice of Tokyo, is home to many of Brazil’s over 1.5 million Japanese descendants.
