NAPLES – “How can we help? What can we do?” said Sean Buckley.
These are the questions that ran through the mind of Naples resident and first year student at Ave Maria School of Law, Sean Buckley, following the massive tragedy in Japan.
“It’s a very sad time. It is a very unfortunate time,” said Sean Buckley.
Buckley spending four years in the country teaching English and training teachers before the disaster struck. It was in that time he was able to make many friends even finding that special someone.
“I was very fortunate to meet my fiancee at Church in Japan, which is kind of bizarre; In a Catholic Church in the country side of Japan,” said Sean Buckley.

ニジェールの政府より義援金のお知らせ

Niamey, Niger – Niger has provided humanitarian aid worth US$25,000 for earthquake victims in Japan, PANA learnt here Friday. The cheque for the amount was presented to the Resident Representative of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Nobuyuki Yamaura, by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Mines and Energy, Seydou Abdoulkarim. Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Abdoulkarim said the gesture ‘is the modest contribution of the Government of Niger to the brotherly people of Japan which suffered tragic accidents following the devastating earthquake and tsunami that hit the country’.

このチャリティーコンサートは東北関東大震災の被災者支援のために、タイ・チェンマイのパヤップ大学音楽部卒業生会とタイ日教育開発財団の共催で３月19日（土）に行われ­ました。企画から開催までわずか５日間で十分な広報ができなかったにもかかわらず、チェンマイの多くのミュージシャンが手弁当で駆けつけ、400人以上の観客が参加して被災地の人­々のことを思い、ともに祈り、復興へのエールを送りました。

タンザニア大使館などより寄せられた救済物資のニュース  In response to the Great East Japan Earthquake, representatives of the Embassy of Tanzania in Japan and the Tanzania Community in Japan will visit the Natori City Hall in Miyagi Prefecture to donate Tanzanian instant coffee (600 cans worth 255,000 yen) and canned foods (405 cans worth 100,000 yen) to disaster-stricken people at 2 P.M. on Saturday, April 9.

ヤマトホールディングス株式会社（本社：東京都中央区、代表取締役社長：木川 眞）は、平成23年4月7日開催の取締役会において、東日本大震災の被災地の生活・産業基盤の復興と再生支援を目的に、宅急便の売り上げの一部を寄付することを決議いたしましたのでお知らせします。

東日本大震災の復興支援に、歩いた距離に応じて募金をもらうイベント「ウォーカソン～恵庭から仙台へ」が１７日、北海道恵庭市で開かれる。英国人の英会話教師、ビッキー小林さん（４４）が企画した。

　参加者はあらかじめ知人や家族と「１キロ歩けば何円募金する」と約束を交わし、当日、実際に歩いた距離分の募金をしてもらう。自分の足か、お金か、好きな方で支援に参加できるのが特徴だ。

　「皆が頑張れば頑張るほど募金が集まる仕組みは、子供や若い人にも励みになる」とビッキーさん。恵庭－仙台間は約７１５キロ。被災地に行くのは簡単ではないが、思いは届けられる。

デザイナーのポールスミス氏がイギリスの起業家宛にメッセージ。「日本は安全で、これからもすばらしい市場であり、パートナーです。日本に投資しましょう」　The UKTI Japan team has maintained its presence in Tokyo and Osaka throughout the aftermath of the 11 March earthquake.
