In just four weeks, the 2:46 Quakebook project has turned an idea first voiced in a single tweet, into a rich collection of essays, artwork and photographs submitted by indivdiuals around the world, including people who endured the disaster and journalists who covered it.
2:46 — Aftershocks: Stories from the Japan Earthquake contains a piece by Yoko Ono, and work created specifically for the book by authors William Gibson, Barry Eisler and Jake Adelstein.

『2:46 — Aftershocks』（通称 #quakebook）はひとつのつぶやきから始まり、3月11日の東日本大震災の被災者を支援するために生まれたチャリティー本です。
Our Man In Abiko (@ourmaninabiko)が発案し、Twitter上で投稿者と制作ボランティアを募り本の制作を提案しました。被災者の想いをはじめオノ・ヨーコ、ウィリアム・ギブスン、バリー・アイスラーなど海外からのメッセージも多く集まり、一週間ほどで一冊の本になりました。この本は近く発売され、売り上げは販売元の手数料を含め100％日本赤十字社へ寄付されます。

海外にいると世界の人たちが心の底から日本のことを心配し、応援してくれていることに目頭が熱くなります。そして寄付をすることくらいでしか、今手を差し伸べることができ­­­ない自分たちをもどかしく思います。応援してくれている人々の声を被災者の皆様に届けるために。『がんばって日本』

National Cherry Blossom festivities begin in Washington as people remember the victims of the disasters in Japan.

I want to raise awareness of a very special lady’s mission to collect crucial items for the estimated 250,000 people displaced by the Tohoku Pacific earthquake on 11th March 2011.
Her name is Caroline Pover and you can find her details here but for ease of reading I’ve copied her latest post here so you can see what she needs and where she is going to be in the UK over the next few weeks.

男子テニスの錦織圭（ソニー）らが東日本大震災の被災者を支援するため２３日に米フロリダ州マイアミで実施したサッカーの慈善試合で、１０万ドル（約８１０万円）の義援金が集まったと２４日、ＡＰ通信が伝えた。

地元クラブとの試合では、トップ選手のノバク・ジョコビッチ（セルビア）ラファエル・ナダル（スペイン）らがチームを組んだ。（共同）
