「こどもの日」の５日、東日本大震災で被災した岩手・陸前高田市では、２００匹以上のこいのぼりが泳ぐ中、子供たちが、こいのぼりに絵やメッセージをかいている。

陸前高田市では、津波で店を失った商店など約２０店が集まって、１日に「けせん朝市」をオープンさせた。仮設テントの外には、全国から寄せられた約８００匹のこいのぼりのうち、２００匹以上が泳いでいる。５日は、真っ白なこいのぼりに子供たちが絵やメッセージをかき込んだ。

「希望のこいのぼり」と名づけられたこのこいのぼりは、完成後に大空に泳がせることになっている。

TOKYO FMでは、4月21日（木）、25時から26時まで、このたびの震災被害に対して、英国ＢＢＣ放送が被災者の方々、そして日本を少しでも音楽で励まし、元気づけようと、ロンドンのミュージシャン、アクター、作家やＢＢＣのＤＪたちとともに制作した特別番組「From UK with LOVE～GANBARO！」を放送致します。
この特別番組制作のきっかけは、以前日本に6年間暮らしたことのあるイギリス人女性Siobhan Eke（シボーン・イーク）さんが、今回の東日本大震災を知り、遠く離れたイギリスからでも何かできることはないかと考え、直接ＢＢＣの女性プロデューサーに依頼したところ、それを即座に了承してくれたことから生まれました。シボーンさんは、日本に居た時から様々な音楽が聴こえてくるラジオが大好きで、ラジオを聴いているだけで心を癒され、元気づけられた経験があり、また、日本滞在時に経験した阪神淡路大震災でラジオが被災者に大きな力を与えていたことも覚えていました。
