ガーナに居る妹がメッセージを送った後に、 「英語でのポスター作って」とメールして来たので、早速オランダ語を英語に直し、返送しました。その２時間後に写真付きのメールが送られてきました。

ケニヤ赤十字が日本の被災者のためにメモリアルを。

Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS) hosted a Memorial service dubbed ‘Pamoja’ for the victims of the twin tragedy of an earthquake and a Tsunami that hit Japan on 11^th March 2011.

ベンアリ独裁政権を倒し、中東や北アフリカの反政府デモの発端となった「ジャスミン革命」の地チュニジアで、東日本大震災の被災者を支援する「デモ」が首都チュニスの日本大使館前で行われるなど、日本人を励まそうという動きが広がっている。

日本の地震のニュースを見て、アフリカにいるみんなも心を痛めています。私も何もできなくてほんとにもどかしい。せめて今できる­こと­をしたいと思って、世界中からメッ­セージを集めています。でも、いっぱい集めてつなげるまでの時間さえも惜しくて、せめて­単発で­もアップしたいと思い、編集なしでアップします。今度はガーナで出会った­素敵な女性からのメッセージです。

On Tuesday 29th March, 2011, a Japanese Memorial Service was held at Mani Room, Nairobi Serena Hotel, to pay a tribute to the victims of the massive Earthquake and Tsunami which devastated the Tohoku (North Eastern) region of Japan on 11th March, 2011. The Memorial Service was organized by the Kenya Red Cross and Mani Room was packed with more than 200 people, who were wearing T shirts prepared by the Red Cross with the insignia ”Pamoja”, meaning ”together in Kiswahili”.

Japan is now in a very critical situation due to the 9.0 Magnitude Earthquakes, Tsunamis and a Crisis in Nuclear Power Plants, causing unprecedented causalities in Japanese history.
As of today, here is the latest situation (National Police Agency).
- Death and missing toll is more than 20,000 of March 20, 2011.
- Number of evacuees is around 350,000.
- More than 14,500 houses were totally destroyed and/or washed away.

Designers for Japan is a loose collective of designers, photographers, art directors and imagemakers from around the world who were spurred by the catastrophe of Friday March 11 to do something, anything to help and to express our love for our friends and colleagues in Japan. So far, it encompasses a set of prints to be sold for charity, an upcoming charity auction and this website. We hope there will be more to come.
