Cuba ready to send doctors, rescuers to Japan

キューバは日本に救援隊を派遣する用意が。

Cuban authorities said they were ready to send a team of doctors and rescuers to assist in rescue efforts in earthquake-stricken Japan, Cuba’s AIN news agency reported on Tuesday.

Cuban Ambassador to Japan Jose Fernandez de Cossio also said all Cubans currently in Japan were ready to render any necessary aid.

Kenya leads African tsunami relief efforts to Japan

Ninety-one countries have offed to help Japan overcome the devastation left behind by the tsunami that followed an 8.9 magnitude earthquake, but none is worth more noting than Kenya. The east African country has pledged more than 2,000 long-distance runners to the rescue efforts in Japan.

Many Reggae/dancehall artistes that frequent the country are more concerned about the loss of lives rather than the effect it will have on the music Industry. Some reggae artistes describe Japan as the best place that they have ever performed. These interactions between the two countries have formed lifetime friendships.

Raul Castro Sends Condolence Message to Japan

キューバのカストロ氏よりお悔やみのメッセージ。

In his message the Cuban leader expressed his conviction that the Asian nation, with its traditional discipline, will be able to recover from this catastrophe.

Cuban President Raul Castro sent on Tuesday a condolence message to the people and Government of Japan upon signing a book opened in Havana in honor of the victims of the earthquake and tsunami that hit this Asian country on March 11.

Jamaica, Japan Help Line set up

ジャマイカ政府が日本救済電話センターを開設。
Jamaica’s Foreign Affairs ministry has set up a help line for people seeking information on their relatives in the Asian country.
Persons seeking information can call 936- 0942.
The ministry says persons can also call the Foreign National Affairs Division in Japan at 813-5501-8174.
Meanwhile, Ann- Margaret Lim, Head of Public Relations at Jamaica’s foreign affairs ministry says so far contact has been made with 35 of the 55 Jamaicans on a teaching programme in Japan.

反政府デモ隊黙祷

クロアチアの首都ザグレブで、大規模な反政府デモが行われた。緊張が高まっている。そんななか、この日のデモ行進で、参加者らは日本大使館前で足を止め、被災者に向け黙祷­を捧げた。その一部始終を現地メディアが報じている。
しかし、日の丸の掲げられた日本大使館前で、突然行進は停止。後続からは「なぜ、止まるんだ!」との声が上がったものの、参加者らはすぐに事態を把握し、大使館前にろうそ­くを灯して被災者に向けて黙祷を捧げた。
ネットユーザーからは、「とても印象的な場面だ」、「感動的だ」と、評価する声が上がっている。

Rescue SA ready themselves for Japan mission

南アフリカのボランティア団体レスキュー・南アフリカのラジオインタビュー。

サイト「助けあいジャパン」更新停止のお知らせとお願い
いつも「助けあいジャパン」の活動にご理解とご協力をありがとうございます。
私たち「助けあいジャパン」は東日本大震災の発災後いち早くサイトを立ち上げ、いままで情報支援活動・ボランティア支援活動を、プロボノの方々をはじめたくさんの方々のご協力のもと行ってまいりました。
震災から5年半、地道に更新を続けてまいりましたが、このたび、情報支援サイトとしてある一定の役割を終えたと判断し、サイト「助けあいジャパン」の更新をいったん停止させていただこうと思います。
いままでご協力いただいた方々、応援してくださった方々、情報をくださった方々、そして私たちのサイトを見て東北に行ってくださった方々、本当にありがとうございました。
情報支援サイトの更新はいったん停止いたしますが、支援活動に終わりはありません。これからもフェーズに合わせた支援活動を続けていきたいと思っております。
なお、熊本地震では「いまできること」(http://imadekirukoto.jp/)というサイトを運営し、情報支援活動を続けております。
今後、ボランティア・ニーズが起こるような大規模災害において「いまできること」サイトを中心に支援活動を行ってまいります。
これからも「助けあいジャパン」をよろしくお願いいたします。
