米男子ゴルフツアー、アーノルド・パーマー招待の開幕前日となった２３日、大会ホストを務める往年の名選手アーノルド・パーマー氏と、スーパースターのタイガー・ウッズ（ともに米国）が大震災に遭った日本へ見舞いの言葉を述べた。
パーマー氏は「災害に立ち向かう日本の方々のことはいつも心にある。米ツアーは、悲劇を乗り越えようとする日本を支援する」とコメント。ウッズは過去の訪日を「温かく迎えてくれた」と振り返り、「日本が一丸となって立ち直ってほしい」と激励した。

A 9.0 earthquake, a Tsunami with waves that made entire towns disappear off the map, and now just north of Tokyo an unprecedented nuclear situation.There are hundreds of thousands homeless right now, in the freezing northern climates and we are all doing the best job right now to help them In material ways.But as much as material needs Japan needs to hear a message from the world that we are not alone. That the world is thinking about us.
