REDSOXの日本選手松坂、岡島による募金運動呼びかけビデオ Led by Red Sox pitchers Daisuke Matsuzaka, a native of Tokyo, Japan, and Hideki Okajima, from Kyoto, Japan, the team encouraged fans to consider making donations through the team charity, the Red Sox Foundation. 100 percent of donations received will be directed to the Red Cross relief efforts now underway in Japan. The Red Sox Foundation has committed to donate $50,000, and Matsuzaka and Okajima, along with fellow pitchers Itsuki Shoda and Junichi Tazawa, are each making personal donations.
The Japan Society has watched with deep sadness as news unfolds of the scale of damage from the Tohoku Pacific earthquake* on 11 March 2011. We extend our heartfelt sympathy and condolences to all who have lost loved ones or been affected by the disastrous events.

The Japan Society has created a relief fund to aid victims of the Tohoku earthquake. All funds received will be distributed to organizations working to help people in the affected areas recover from the devastating effects of the earthquake and tsunami.
